Good to Great Schools Australia (GGSA) partners with schools and school systems to support school improvement along a journey from Poor to Fair, Fair to Good and Good to Great.

GGSA has developed innovative education models and practices to give every child the opportunity to develop to their full potential. GGSA assists schools to tailor a package that meets the needs of their students, teachers, school and community. The 8 Cycles of School Practice provides the information and guidance a school needs to support their implementation.

About the Role

The School Engagement Manager reports to the CEO and plays a key role in driving education reform in Australia through strategic planning, great service delivery of the quality products and the development and implementation of our sales strategies. GGSA currently supports 29 schools across Australia and this role will contribute to the expansion to over 200 schools within 2 years.

The School Engagement Manager also holds marketing responsibilities including:

  • Marketing, sales and relationship management of schools
  • Coordinating events, trainings and workshops that help support schools, education professionals and the GGSA team.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years in a sales and business development role
  • Commercial and operational business development experience within the education sector
  • Successful delivery of sales plans, able to demonstrate a high level of sales performance
  • Managed a project team of 4 or more full time employees
  • Ability to think strategically through complex issues taking into account the bigger picture and longer-term outcomes and produce strategic argument to support thinking
  • Ability to develop strong networks with diverse key partners with demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to sell difficult/contentious concepts
  • Ability to lead and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives including sharing the vision of the design, being able to work with and embed others views and get the buy in from stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel away from base location to regional and remote areas of Australia;
  • Evidence of a current valid driver’s licence

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working with state and territory education sectors and Commonwealth education department and their policies, structure, framework
  • Managed an education program
  • Project management and/or business qualifications
  • Registration with a recognised national project management affiliation
  • Understanding of the political and legal framework in which the organisation operates
  • Knowledge of behaviour change and/or social and economic development.

Positions at GGSA are subject to the successful candidate being able to obtain a National Police Check and a Working with Children Card (Blue Card).
