Multimedia and Graphic Design Specialist (Cairns based)

About the role

The Multimedia Graphic Designer will design communication materials for Good to Great Schools Australia (GGSA) and be based in our Cairns office. The key responsibilities of this position include designing and producing an extensive range of creative assets such as illustrations, graphics and collateral, alongside multimedia communications, marketing and design.

Essential criteria
  • Relevant qualification in Multimedia, graphic design, communications or marketing, or other relevant field and/or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Experience using video editing and social media applications in a professional capacity
  • Demonstrated experience developing and adapting styling and formatting to create uniform Microsoft Word and Power Point documents and templates
  • Experience with website content management systems such as WordPress
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced skills in developing layouts and styles for use in MS Office suite, in particular Word and Power Point
  • Demonstrated skills in the advanced use of the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro
  • Demonstrated ability to produce engaging and well designed marketing collateral
  • Ability to work independently with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to travel away from base location to regional and remote areas of Australia.
  • Possess a Blue Card (or if successful provide evidence of obtaining/applying prior to commencement
  • Evidence of a successfully completed Police Check
Desired criteria:
  • Experience in photography production for image management and preparation of photography briefs and photo-shoots
  • Experience in developing rich media content for social media, websites and EDMs.
  • Experience in publishing, such as overseeing style and content of a publication and using desktop publishing or other publication-specific software tools;
  • Experience in using Apple Mac computers and software
  • Understanding of the political and legal framework in which the organisation operates
  • Knowledge of behaviour change and/or social and economic development
  • Knowledge of Cape York Peninsula; its peoples, cultures and environments.

Positions at GGSA are subject to the successful candidate being able to obtain a National Police check and a Working with Children card (Blue Card).
