The article was commenting on the state of the current work being done toward “closing the gap” for Indigenous Australians, and made specific mention of education and employment as ways to close this gap.

The article states,
“Participation in school is at the centre of everything and will assist in the achievement of all other gap targets. warns that failure in this area will lead to failure across the board.”
